The UNESCO Chair for World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism Management in the Arab World (WH-STAR) is pleased to announce the winner of its international competition to design the brand for Bahla Fort, the first World Heritage Site in the GCC, inscribed in 1987.

Amr Mousa, architect and designer with a passion in Heritage submitted an inspiring design reflecting the values of the site and its attributes. Stay Tuned!

Amr Mousa is an award-winning interdisciplinary designer blending branding, industrial design, and architecture. He holds a master’s from Politecnico di Milano, where he explored the fusion of branding and architecture. His work has earned international acclaim, winning awards like the Pentawards, Dieline, DNA Paris, and the Young Design Pioneer Award 2022. Amr has lectured at institutions including the University of Sharjah, AANT Rome, and MSA University, with his work featured by platforms such as Museo del Design, Expo 2020 Dubai, and Yanko Design.

As much as Heritage needs conservation, it also needs communication! Communication that is telling the story of the site and the community living around it.
